WHAT
IS UNITED RESCUE?
United Rescue is a community-based volunteer emergency care service providing treatment before the ambulance arrives.
WHO
IS UNITED RESCUE?
Our volunteer Community-Based Emergency Caregivers (CBECs) are trained, certified & equipped to respond to 911 medical calls in the moments that separate life from death.
WHO
BENEFITS FROM IT? Every victim of trauma (heart attack, stroke, choking, bleeding, etc.) who is near a volunteer CBEC will receive help before the ambulance arrives.
HOW
DOES IT WORK?Calls come in through the city’s 911 center and volunteer CBECs are dispatched through a GPS-enabled phone app. CBECs respond in their neighborhood or workplace to treat the patient until the ambulance arrives.
WHEN SECONDS COUNT...
Helping to save lives in Jersey City by providing rapid pre-ambulance emergency medical care through a network of trained and equipped community-based volunteers responding in their neighborhoods and workplace. In those critical minutes and seconds that can separate the moment between life and death, it is our goal to respond within three minutes and provide professional medical care until an ambulance arrives. United Rescue’s volunteers are ready to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
OUR VOLUNTEERS
“Our volunteers are ‘normal’ people in the community who are out there helping others in need by doing extraordinary things - responding to medical emergencies. They are teachers, students, shop owners and more, all dedicated to making a difference in people's lives. I am grateful to be part of such a wonderful organization and group of people.”
